DECEMBER 17 AND 18, 2012
Our third graders had a wonderful time last Friday during
their HOLIDAYS CELEBRATION! They participated in 6 different Christmas, Kwanzaa
and Chanukkah activities as a culmination of the content we learned about these
traditions through out the week. We want to especially thank Ms. Emily for the
creative snowman craft, Ms. Yessica and Ms. Ninoska for organizing the food, and
Mr. Colin for the beautiful and delicious snowman cake. Your cooperation is
greatly appreciated!
MULTIPLICATION AND
DIVISION HOLIDAY PACKET – after class discussions on the importance
of “practice makes perfect” and “being
responsible for our learning” the third graders volunteered to take packets
that will allow them to practice their facts during the holidays. We ask
parents to encourage (and remind) them to do one side of a page each day during
the holiday break. This will help them come back better prepared in January
2013.
SONG FEST
– Our third graders have been working hard in Music class to SHINE on Tuesday,
December 17 in
our annual Song Fest. PLEASE BE HERE BEFORE 6:00 p.m. There will be food and
drinks sold before the performances, and since traffic gets even more difficult
at this time of the year, we ask our parents to plan on being here early. Remember,
our third grade girls need to wear a
formal dress, and our third grade boys need to wear formal pants, and shirt
with a tie.
Because this is a
short 2-day week, THERE WILL BE NO
HOMEWORK this week. We want to remind our third graders that their novels
and packets are due Monday, December 17.
These two school
days, our third graders will be working on division, using quotations, reading
TIME FOR KIDS, continue their independent reading, and doing reading fluency
tests.
On behalf of all of us, we want
to wish you all a Wonderful Holiday Season, and many blessings for 2013. We
will see you all on Tuesday, January 8, 2013!
