WEEK OF OCTOBER 8-12, 2012
This week marks the end of
out first quarter in third grade. Our students have accomplished much in the
past two months, and continue learning every day. Here is what we will be
working on this week:
v
Math: we
will wrap up the unit on addition and subtraction. We will have a test on
Thursday.
v
Theme: we
will be making a bee model, continue measuring and observing our Brassica
plants, and finish the unit on Plants with a reflection and talk about the
skits we will be putting together.
v
R/W Workshop: we will be learning about Narrative writing (utilizing the steps in the
writing process) and reading independently in class. We will also be finishing
The Witches for read aloud, and plan watching the movie next week. An email
will be sent to parents this week with information about the movie. Please
remember that this month’s novel and packet are due on Tuesday, October 16.
v
