WEEK OF APRIL 22 – 26, 2013
THANK YOU TO THE
PARENTS AND 3rd GRADE STUDENTS WHO CAME TO LAST SATURDAY’S FUN RUN!
It was a great community event, and everyone had a great time!
Our third grade students continue to work hard and learn
many new and exciting things in class! This is what we will be working on this
week:
ü
Math:
we begin our unit on TIME AND DATA ANALYSIS by working with the clock – telling
time to the hour, half hour, minute; finding ellapsed time,
ü
Science:
our activities for this week include working with strings on a pegboard
ü
R/W
Workshop – Our reading groups will be reading their second biography for
the next two weeks. They will continue to work on new vocabulary, filling out a
time line, and responding to literature. Don’t fall behind in the reading of
your Beverly Cleary novel at home. This is due on May 3.
ü
Spelling:
this week’s lesson (#32) is about silent /k/ and /w/. The quiz will be on
Friday.
ü
Do not forget to practice your IXL and MAP Reading Skills every day. Please have your parents sign the
chart in your Take Home Folder.
ü
Feeling generous? Our classes would appreciate
donations of OFF repellant and disposables (cup, plates, forks, napkins, etc)
FRACTION AND DECIMAL PIZZA
